What is a futon?

I had a futon when I was in college. It wasn’t near as comfortable as this? What’s the difference?
When most people think of a futon, they think of the cheap-layered mattresses on the cheap frame they had in college. While we have the ability to order in the layered mattresses (mostly for people using while camping), our return and referral customers are those who buy either our Simmons or Sealy quality coil mattresses. They both have a variety of futon mattresses available. Come see which one fits your needs today.

My cousin bought a futon from you last month of this same frame and her futon cost her $200 less. What’s up?
When you buy a futon, you can buy the frame, mattress, cover, and accents separately. Depending on the mattress and accents you use to complete your set, your overall futon package price can differ. With over 2,000 cover choices alone, we can’t provide a standard price, but we will construct the package to YOUR individual needs.

I have rowdy kids. Which futon frame would be best?
No matter what your family situation, one of our best-built, most solid construction frames is the Strata line. Abuse of furniture is not covered under warranty.

I have kids that still wet the bed. Got anything that can help?
We carry a high quality line of mattress protectors that are waterproof, breathable, a dust mite barrier, absorbent, flexible, and machine washable. The covers have a 10-year guarantee and will fit under any of our quality futon covers.

I don’t have much room for a futon. Is there a futon made for smaller spaces?
We have loveseat futons that take up less space than a full size futon, but still convert to a full size mattress for sleeping. We also carry wall hugger futons that do not have to be moved from the wall when converting from a couch position to a bed.

I want maximum seating from my furniture. What’s my best choice?
We have futons with accompanying ottomans that attach to complete a full size mattress for sleeping, but separate for extra seating. We also have futons that set up to a chaise position for comfortable, luxury group seating.

I want a tapestry fabric. What do you have?

I need machine washable. Do you have a cover for that?
SIS cover web page has a search for different types of fabric care including a variety of machine washable fabrics. Please call LS covers to find their care instructions for your favorite futon cover.

Why are the covers sold separately?
We have over 2,000 choices for fabrics to make into covers, not including customer purchased fabric that we can have made into quality covers. As the price of the fabric increase, so does the price of the overall cover. Some of our most luxurious fabrics can cost more than a mattress. Not everyone wants to pay this price, but we want to offer the high quality fabrics to those who do.

Why are the mattresses sold separately?
You have heard of the mattresses that you can dial each side of the bed to your desired firmness level. Everyone has their own particular needs and desires in what they want out of a mattress and how they want it to perform. The choices to meet your needs come at different prices. So that you can create your own package, we let you pick your mattress to meet your needs. Also, you can update your old mattress if your needs change.

My mattress won’t stay on the futon. What’s up?
The loveseat innerspring mattress has coils that are tied along the vertical length of the mattress. This is to allow a vertical bend of the mattress. The coils are not tied horizontally to allow for this same bend. Bending the mattress against the coil grain will not result in a smooth bend. Try rotating your mattress 90 degrees and refolding. This should allow folding the mattress with the coil grain and create a smooth fold.

Do you sell any matching furniture to your futons?
Some of the futons are matched to coffee and end tables. Others are sold with ottomans.

Why are my items arriving on separate days?
If you order your complete ensemble from different wholesalers who direct ship to you, those wholesalers may have different ship and delivery dates. You may contact those companies separately to find their exact dates, but we will be happy to find any information for you we can.

Can I really take the top of the poker table to my friend’s house?
Yes

Do you have queen size mattresses for futons?
Yes

Do you have twin mattresses for futons?
No

I can transform the futon from the couch position to the bed position fine. My kids can even do it, but it’s a pain to move it from the wall. What can you do?
We have Wallhugger futons from Strata that don’t require the futon to be pulled out from the wall before being transformed from the couch to bed position.
